Jesse,
If you go to dev.mysql.com and under Downloads, click Archives (instead of current) you
can get the old GUI tools. Also, I think only 5.2 (beta 6?) has QB and Admin integrated.
I think its missing from 5.1 (which is GA).
I can say I personally disapprove of MySQL attempting to deprecate GA (Query Browser and
Administrator) software and replace it with Beta software (Workbench). I can only assume
that the want to draw more user to this product to make it better, but for the general
"users" of the open source community, I think this is doing them a disservice. That, and
some of us just can't deploy beta software.
That said, Workbench is a wonderful product, and I'm happy to see that they are putting
their energy into working on this all-in-one solution.
Let's just hope (in GA) that it doesn't have the abominable instability on the Mac that
all of the other GUI tools have.
Finally, thank you to whomever decided to add Downloads back onto the main mysql.com page.
It was pretty clear that its initial removal was an Oracle driven move, so I don't blame
you MySQL for that one.
Best Regards,
